JOHN FREDRICK KERBER is an American storyteller, writer, and sometimes producer. Born and raised in Minnesota, he’s been creating stories since he could speak and hold a pencil in his hand.

In college, Kerber took first prize in a university-wide television screenplay competition for a spec script he wrote for South Park. Most recently, an original pilot he wrote, Loon Ridge, was a selected honoree for the Catalyst Story Institute 2021, an organization sponsored and attended by executives from HBO.

Well-versed in the realm of storytelling scholars, Kerber has studied and is extensively knowledgeable regarding the written works of Joseph Campbell, specifically The Hero with a Thousand Faces, as well as John Truby and his book The Anatomy of Story.

Though a personal goal of his is to one day write and publish a novel, Kerber’s first storytelling love has always been movies. As of 2024, he has successfully written and produced four professionally made films that have been screened in multiple theaters/festivals around the country.

Key inspirations for Kerber’s own work include JRR Tolkien, Hayao Miyazaki, Bill Watterson, Charles Dickens, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Quentin Tarantino, and the very supportive network of his family and friends.
